IT job fest at RIMT Engineering Institute to fill 200 vacancies
963 students appeared, 242 shortlisted by IT companies in IT job fest at RIMT Engineering Institutes, Mandi Gobindgarh
RIMT Engineering Institute at Mandi Gobindgarh hosted a mega I.T. job fest in which more than 15 leading IT companies from Gurgaon, Noida, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula participated to fill their immediate job openings for B.Tech, MCA and MBA students passed out in 2007/2008 and 2009.
Few big names include Interglobe Technologies from Gurgaon, SDG Software and HCL Infosystem from Noida, Multivirt Technologies from New Delhi, RedAlkemi, Authorgen Technologies, BelWo Inc, Meritech Software Solutions and Altruist Technologies from IT park Chandigarh, A-1 Technology from Mohali, Artworld Websolutions and Solutions, Beyond from Panchkula.
Event was inaugurated by Chairman Sh. Hukam Chand Bansal of RIMT Group of Institutes in the presence of Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Principal RIMT Engineering college and CEOs, directors and HR officials of participating companies. He said that such job fest is a step towards bridging the gap between industry and academia where in academia works to fulfill the industry requirements by organizing such job fests. Such initiative of hosting IT job fest is happening first time in northern region as students from colleges at Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab were invited to participate.
Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Principal of the college said that no registration fees was charged and free transport facility was provided from Chandigarh, Panchkula, Mohali, Ambala, Patiala, Nabha & Ludhiana region.
On the occasion Prof. H.S.Taluja, Director Placements said that 963 students appeared. Interviews continued till late evening and finally total of 242 students were shortlisted by various companies for final round to be held in their corporate office. The compiled result will be displayed in college website www.rimtengg.com. All companies had their own recruitment procedures and were hiring for posts such as Software engineer, software trainee, web developer, web designer, content writer, technical writer, business analyst, business development executive, search engine optimizer etc with variable salary packages ranging from 1.44 to 3.6 lacs per annum.
HR Officials of companies also shared their thoughts and appreciated the efforts of training and placement department of RIMT Engineering Institutes in terms of opportunity extended to them for hiring talent from campus and hospitality extended to them.
