Prof. (Dr) V.S.Batra, Head of Civil Engineering. Deptt welcomed the representatives of Ambuja Cement Ltd and also students and faculty of deptt. He spoke on the importance of the Industry Institute Interaction. This was important as the students and faculty would understand the field applications of engineering better. This will also narrow down the gap between class room teaching and field practices. The students will have better confidence and will become better professionals when they join the field after finishing their studies. Prof. Batra introduced Mr. Bhupinder Singh Sidhu and Mr. Manish Bhatia both from Ambuja Cement Ltd. Mr. Sidhu, manager customer support services delivered a talk on Indian cement market and role of civil engineers in cement marketing and also on professional excellence. Mr. Bhatia gave a presentation on cement -its manufacturing process, history and testing procedures under BIS requirements. Both were well prepared.
Prof. Batra thanked the speakers. He also appreciated the students who heard them with rapt attention and also for the interaction. The sincere cooperation of faculty and staff was also acknowledged and appreciated. He also thanked the organizing team particularly Mr. Sandeep Singla, Mr Harvinder Singh Sibia and Mr. Sunil Kumar of Department of Civil Engineering.
